When most people think of the arrival of autumn and winter, their thoughts turn to the changing of the leaves, trendy “in-season” boots, cute hats, etc. Nevertheless, with the good, comes the annoying. Different seasons require different hair care techniques. When autumn arrives, hair tends to get dry, brittle and dull. Here are some tips that will keep your hair from falling short this season!

·         Deep Condition regularly
  • Heat and friction interfere with the natural structure of hair. In addition, while shampooing gets your hair clean, it can also strip your hair of its natural oils.

·         Trim
  • Get rid of the damaged and brittle hair from summer. Do it often because it will prevent the damage from moving up and causing further damage like split ends.

·         Use Less Heat
  • Being indoors will be warm enough to dry your hair. However, if you feel the need, go to a professional who will know how to accommodate temperatures to different hair types. If styling yourself, make sure that you use a nourishing heat protective spray or leave-in conditioner to safeguard your hair.

·         Towel Dry
  • If you blow-dry your hair too often, it can lead to hair breakage.

·         Exercise and Drink Water
  • Stay healthy; do not go into hibernation mode.

·         Hats and headscarves
  • Both options are a good source of protection and very stylish!

There is a great event approaching…no it’s not Halloween, although I cannot wait to create my Doctor Who costume—the event I’m speaking about is both for an amazing cause and shows awesome Colt Pride.

October is national Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it is getting a lot of support from our favorite team throughout the month. So… to commemorate it, the Colts are uniting with other teams in the NFL’s national, “A Crucial Catch”, initiative by encouraging their fans to join them in recognizing the survivors and in raising awareness for the disease that, unfortunately, threatens the lives of millions of women each year.
Let’s throw some facts out there:
- In 2014, an estimated 232,030 cases of  invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in the U.S. alone.
- For women in the U.S., breast cancer death rates are higher than any other cancer, besides lung cancer.
- About 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime.
- Besides skin cancer, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among American women. Just under 30% of cancers in women are breast cancers.
Visit ww5.komen.org for more information.

Many people are affected by this and not the just the ones who have the disease. Breast cancer also impacts the lives of family and friends. Join the effort. Get involved. Raise Awareness.
