If you haven't heard of Nikki Reed, she is part of WZPL’s Smiley Morning Show (99.5 FM) in Indiana and she was a victim of damaged hair that stopped growing. Nikki recently appeared on Indy Style to share her story about restoring her hair to its natural state after damaging it due to constant dyeing for so many years.

Nikki explained that part of her radio personality is to always do fun and crazy things to her hair. This caused a long trend of dyeing her hair to different colors which damaged the hair at its root. Constantly dyeing hair and changing its color is an increasing trend nowadays, called fantasy hair, but what people like Nikki fail to realize is how damaging it is. Nikki explains on Indy style that after years of dyeing and straightening her hair that she realized her hair just stopped growing as if her hair said "No! I've had enough of you!". This is when she sought the help of Transitions of Indiana.

Nikki reached out to Transitions to see what her options were to get her hair growing again. Recently, WISH TV's Indy Style program interviewed a real Transitions of Indiana hair restoration client along with her hair restoration specialist, Melissa Green to show off Jennifer's amazing results with Laser Hair Therapy and PRP treatments. Jennifer was experiencing post-partum hair loss and thinning after her pregnancy, which can happen to many women due to the increase in hormones. Jennifer was also pre-disposed to experience hair loss due to genetics and her concerns had her explore her options and see if it really was possible to grow her hair back.

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma, a new scientific breakthrough in hair restoration. The client's own blood platelets, collected from a blood sample is spun in a centrifuge. The Platelet Rich Plasma is then combined with A-Cell and injected into the unhealthy areas of the scalp. Melissa explains, “A-Cell is an activator that is introduced to a person’s platelets prior to the injection. This attracts other stem cells to the area of concern for the biggest, possible boost.” 

The result is thicker,fuller hair. On Indy Style, it's quite evident how well this procedure has improved Jennifer's hair line and thinning in her temple area. Laser Hair Therapy has also contributed to the overall improvement and both procedures are FDA approved as safe and effective. 

Jennifer has been receiving Laser Hair Therapy on a regular basis, stating, “I came in two-three times a week and sat under a laser which didn’t hurt at all. It’s actually pretty relaxing. I did it on my lunch break or on the weekends. I’m super happy with the results and I’m still going.”

This is Gunner, Dave Gundaker to be exact. While it is very likely that you recognize his face, you would find it easier to identify his voice if you heard it. Gunner is an afternoon DJ on WFBQ Radio (Q-95).
